Toby Belman is the President & CEO of C5 Group Inc. C5 Group Inc. is the parent company of a group of Companies which includes American Conference Institute, based in New York, The Canadian Institute, based in Toronto, C5 (UK), EuroForum, EuroLegal and EF International, based in London and C5 (China) in Beijing.

Ms. Belman graduated from New York University and then received a Law Degree from the distinguished Osgoode Hall Law School, in Toronto. She practiced law in Toronto for 7 years and was named one of the top young lawyers in Toronto.

Ms. Belman started The Canadian Institute in 1985, because she recognized that in a constantly changing world there is a continual need, both in the Commercial Sector and in Government, for the latest high quality information. Under her leadership, The Canadian Institute became the largest and most respected provider of Summits, Conferences and business information in Canada.

In 1990, Ms. Belman started American Conference Institute which today is one of the most respected conference companies in the United States. Most large National and Multinational companies in the US, as well as every level of the US Government, regularly participate in American Conference Institute events.

In 1992, Ms. Belman went to London to start EuroForum, followed by EuroLegal, EF International and then C5 (UK). EuroForum was one of the first conference companies to enter Russia and the CIS and Central and Eastern Europe, to provide information to the newly independent countries entering the modern business world, and also to provide opportunities to meet with the many investors eager to participate in their growth. Numerous Presidents, Ministers and other high level Government Officials have presented at EuroForum and EF International Conferences in the FSU countries. In fact, the Russian Government gave EuroForum and EF International a medal for the contribution made to Russia with their high level, quality Conferences and Summits.

Together, the C5 Group companies employ over 300 people worldwide, including lawyers, MBAs, PhDs in many specialities and other professionals. C5 Group companies host over 500 conferences each year attracting delegates from around the globe, in areas which include law, energy, transportation, natural resources, biotechnology, telecommunications, finance, banking, insurance, international trade, health care and pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, and public policy. Summits, Conferences and Forums are held throughout the US, Canada, Europe, Russia and CIS, Africa and Asia. Speakers include the highest level Government officials, leaders of the largest national and multinational organizations and the top experts.

In 2004, Ms. Belman decided to start exploring the China market. C5’s first co-operative partnership was with the Development Research Center of the State Council, People’s Republic of China (DRC) on a Summit dealing with Oil and Gas. Ms. Belman relied on her own wide range of contacts throughout the world, to confirm as speakers, the Oil Ministers of Russia, Iran and Brazil. 2006 will be the year in which C5 increases its co-operative partnerships with both Government Agencies and other organizations in China. C5 (China) is now doing business in Beijing.

Ms. Belman lives in Toronto, but spends a great deal of time in the various countries where the C5 Group does business. She has three children, a daughter who has completed her degree in international relations at Cambridge University in the UK and is now taking her PhD in International Development Administration at the School of Public Policy and Administration at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and working for the World Bank, a son who has recently completed his degree in Educational Psychology at Harvard University, in the US and is now taking his PhD in Educational Technology at New York University, in the US, and a son who is an IT specialist in Toronto.
