Overview
Within the next 20 years, China will become the second largest civil aviation market in the world, after the U.S. Last year, air traffic passenger volume was estimated to be 160 million, double that of only 5 years before, and double digit growth is expected to continue. But growth of this magnitude brings challenges, as well as opportunities. China
is modernizing its entire aviation system, investing heavily in infrastructure and people, including technologically advanced and systematically reliable air traffic control and management systems, new and expanded airport facilities, almost 3,000 civilian aircraft within 20 years and 40,000 trained pilots…all with a focus on safety and security, capacity, efficiency, sustainability and competitiveness.
The 2nd International China Civil Aviation Development Forum 2008, will once more bring together high level representatives of government, international civil aviation authorities, organizations and associations, as well as senior aviation executives from around the world, for an open interchange of ideas. You will hear about:
- How CAAC is dealing with the issues of increasing capacity, efficiency and liberalization
- How China is reorganizing its airspace structure
- NextGen and SESAR: comparisons, timelines, achievements and interoperability issues
- CAAC’s initiatives and progress in implementing SMS
- Consolidations and mergers in the global and Chinese aviation sectors: facing the realities of a competitive world
- Beijing Capital and Heathrow Airports: setting 21st century global standards
- Strategies for airport company growth through worldwide expansion
- AVIC 1’s ARJ-21: strategies for becoming a global player
- Incentives for investment in regional airports and boosting regional and low cost carriers in China
The 2nd International China Civil Aviation Development Forum 2008 will bring together an illustrious panel of speakers, including:
- The Minister of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC)
